What Does the Qur’an Say About Marriage?
Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Qur’an:
“And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves, that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for people who reflect.”
(Qur’an 30:21)
Allah also says:
“Marry the unmarried among you and the righteous among your male and female servants. If they are poor, Allah will enrich them from His bounty.”
(Qur’an 24:32)
What Did Prophet Muhammad ﷺ Say About Nikah?
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ strongly encouraged marriage and considered it part of his Sunnah.
1. Marriage Completes Half of Faith
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“When a person marries, he has fulfilled half of his religion. Let him fear Allah regarding the remaining half.”
(Al-Bayhaqi)
Marriage is Part of the Sunnah
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Marriage is my Sunnah, and whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not from me.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah)
